CHROME OXIDE: WRITER Under the pen name of Chrome Oxide I write humorous science fiction and fantasy. However, I've been accused of writing murder mysteries since I murder the English language and it's a mystery how I get published.
When people ask why I write humorous science fiction and fantasy, I explain that my reality check bounced.

Movimg Day, by Chrome Oxide
Sister Mary finished eating and hurried to the chapel between the convent and monastery. She was more in love with God then the day before, and the day before that, and every day since she took her vows to become a nun.
She said a quick prayer, crossed herself and looked around. All the other nuns were in the archive packing hundreds of years of history. Her only companion was one of the soldiers that arrived this morning. She would miss the stained glass windows in the chapel. It was unfortunate that El Presidente was paving over the convent to make space for his classic car collection. Everything happens according to God's plan so it was not her place to question what she didn't understand. God worked in mysterious ways.
A truckload of soldiers had arrived to announce El Presidente's plans. This was not how she wanted to celebrate her 21st birthday and the third anniversary of taking her vows.
"Hey, Sister. Move your ass. We don't have all day. Anything you don't carry out today will be bulldozed tomorrow."
Sister Mary loved all God's creatures, but some were more difficult to love than others. It helped that the soldier had dreamy blue eyes and blond hair long enough to run her fingers through.
"God Bless you. Will you give me a hand?"
"I'll give you two." The soldier smiled, clapped his hands and said, "Helping you is not in my job description."
Sister Mary walked up and down the pews collecting the Bibles and placing them in boxes. They would be too heavy for her, but one of the Fathers would be able to carry them out of the chapel to the waiting trucks. Even though the Fathers were all old, some were handsome in a distinguished older gentleman kind of way.
When she finished boxing the Bibles, she went into the kitchen to pack the utensils and kitchenware. The soldier who had watched over her in the chapel had followed her into the kitchen and continued watching over her. That was sweet although it wasn't necessary. Nothing bad would happen to her in God's house.
When she finished in the kitchen she went back to her room to pack her few possessions. Because she was married to God, she didn't have much in the way of physical possessions. As she looked around, she wondered where the cute soldier had wandered off to.
Before she had a chance to pack any of her meager possessions, the soldier who had watched over her earlier entered her room with two other soldiers. They closed the door behind them.
Sister Mary wondered if she was about to consummate her marriage to God.
